Effective 7 October 2026
The short version. Swear It only has health data you choose to give it: the health figures a promise is proved by, and whatever your promises, proof and messages say about your health. We use it to check your promises and to show you your own progress, and for nothing else. We don't sell it, don't use it for advertising, and don't share it with anyone except the companies that run the service for us and the friend you ask to vouch for a promise.
This policy is from Nalla Sai Abhiram, who runs Swear It ("Swear It", "we"). It adds to our Privacy Policy and describes how we handle "consumer health data": information that can be linked to you and says something about your physical or mental health, past, present or future. It applies to everyone, and is written to meet Washington's My Health My Data Act and Nevada's consumer health data law.
| What | Why, and how it is used |
|---|---|
| Health and fitness figures read from Apple Health or Health Connect, only for a promise you chose to prove that way and only the measures that promise uses. Depending on the promise: steps, distance, workouts, exercise and mindful minutes, energy burned, sleep, bedtime and waking time, heart rate, weight and body measurements, water, food and nutrients you log, blood glucose. | To check whether that promise was kept on each day, to show you your progress, and to let the coach answer your questions about your own figures. |
| Figures from apps and devices you connect (for example Strava, Fitbit, Oura, Whoop or Withings): the measure a promise counts. | The same. |
| What your promises say: a promise's name and rule can describe something about your health ("No alcohol", "Take my medication", "Physio exercises"). | To hold you to the promise you wrote. |
| What your proof shows: photos, videos, screenshots, voice notes and writing you send as proof or with an appeal may show or describe your health, your body, your face or your voice. | To decide whether the day was kept, and to decide an appeal. We do not use pictures or recordings to identify you: no face or voice templates are made from them. |
| What you tell the coach about your health, and the notes it keeps about your goals. | To give you a coach that remembers what you are working on. |
| Location at a place you saved, where that place relates to your health (for example a gym): where you are at the moment you check in, and, if you allow location "Always", when you arrive and leave. | To prove a promise to go there. |
We collect health data only with your consent, or because it is necessary to provide the service you asked for. Your phone asks your permission before Swear It can read each kind of figure from Apple Health or Health Connect, and you can take that permission back in your phone's settings at any time.
We don't get health data about you from anyone else, and we don't work it out from other information.
We do not sell health data, and we do not share it with other companies for their own purposes. It goes only to:
We have no affiliates that receive health data. No other company collects health data about you over time or across other websites or apps when you use Swear It. Health data is never used for advertising, and never used to decide credit, insurance or employment.
Place check-ins are for places such as a gym, a library or an office. Please don't save a place that provides health care in person (a clinic, a hospital, a pharmacy, or a therapist's, doctor's or dentist's office) as a check-in place: prove those promises another way, such as a photo or your own word. We do not set up location boundaries around health care providers to identify or track people, to collect health data or to send messages, and we remove a saved place of that kind when we learn of it.
You have the right to:
To use any of these rights, use the app as described or write to spatialsimp@gmail.com from the email address on your account. We may ask for a detail to confirm it is you. We answer within 45 days. It is free, and we won't treat you differently for asking.
If we say no. If we can't do what you ask, we will tell you why. You can appeal by replying to that message or writing to spatialsimp@gmail.com with "Appeal" in the subject, and a different person will decide where that is possible. We answer an appeal within 45 days, in writing, with the reasons. If you are still unhappy, you can complain to the Washington State Attorney General at atg.wa.gov/file-complaint, or to the Nevada Attorney General at ag.nv.gov.
If we begin to collect a new kind of health data, use it for a new purpose or send it to a new kind of recipient, we will change this page first and ask for your consent in the app where the law requires it. The date at the top is when this version began to apply.
